Classic Movie Nights

During the summer season, we enjoy the wonderful Movie Theater on the Parade Grounds. Throughout the rest of the year, David Hoch (a retired professor who has taught multiple film courses), hosts Friday night movie screenings with a brief introduction and insights into each classic, well-loved film before the showing.

Movies start at 6:00pm, and basic concessions are available, including popcorn, water, and soda.
Movie and concession prices are by donation.

Friday, June 5- The Third Man (1949)- film noir, 104 min. D: Carol Reed.

     Joseph Cotton, Orson Welles, Alida Valli, Trevor Howard. Written by Graham Greene.

After post-WWII occupied Vienna, a friend learns at a new job that his friend has died.

Friday, June 12- Hair (1979)- musical comedy-drama, 121 min, Rated R. D: Milos Forman.

 During the Vietnam War, a “tribe” of hippies befriend a draftee on his way to his induction.

Friday, June 19- The Hunter (2011)- adventure/mystery, 102 min, PG-13. Australian.

Philosophical thriller as a mercenary hired by a bio-tech co. to find the extinct Tasmanian Tiger.
