Classic movies at the Community Center
The Fishers Island Community Center is pleased to again be able to offer Classic Movie Night! From now on, people who have been vaccinated no longer have to wear a mask. Only those who have not been vaccinated should wear a mask.
- The movies will be shown in the Great Room on the 2nd floor of the FICC, with the elevator in full working order.
- Doors open at 6:30pm, film at 7:00pm.
- The availability of popcorn, soda, and water for donation only is back. A small selection of drinks and snacks, are available in the vending machine in the 1st floor Café lounge, and you may BYO beverage.
- Each movie will have a short introduction by former faculty David Hoch who taught a class in this subject.

James Garner, Julie Andrews, Melvyn Douglas, James Coburn. Script by Paddy Chayefsky.
In the days before D-Day, an admiral’s adjutant is assigned to lead a film crew to photograph the 1st sailor on Omaha Beach. Garner and Andrews have both cited this film as the favorite of their careers.

After WWII, a one-armed former soldier travels to the desert town of Black Rock and runs into a dangerous mystery. Dynamite cast also includes Ernest Borgnine, Dean Jagger in classic suspenser.

Glenn Ford, Gloria Graham, Jocelyn Brando, Lee Marvin. Directed by Fritz Lang.
Ford plays a detective investigating a suspicious suicide involving police corruption.

Sprawling big-budget western involving stolen rifles and renegade Confederates joining with Apaches.
