In keeping with the Community Center’s mission to provide activities, programming, and outreach to the Fishers Island community, the Center is pleased to introduce three new members of its staff. Staley Sednaoui, David Hoch, and Linda Mrowka will all work part-time hours assisting Director Jeanie Cook in increasing programming, strengthening marketing, streamlining administrative systems, and keeping the building running smoothly. Staley will focus on programming and marketing, David will keep his eye on the AV systems and the general physical plant, and Linda will be overseeing membership. Please say hello to them when you stop in.
Staley Sednaoui has a BA from Vassar College and has spent the first part of her professional career in various administrative positions for high-level executives both in New York City and San Francisco. While raising three children (who are now 26, 23, and 20), she turned those skills to community service work in Princeton, NJ. More recently she returned to school to get a MS in Nutrition and Functional Medicine, and she currently has a part-time online practice in nutrition and health. Staley and her husband Carter have been living on Fishers full-time for the last year. She’s delighted to have the opportunity to join the Community Center.
David Hoch graduated from Fishers Island School and received BA degrees from the University of Delaware and Brooks Institute in California, and a MA degree in English from Rhode Island College. He also served four years in the US Navy as a Journalist. He recently retired after teaching for 20 years at New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island. His two sons, Zack and Tim, both live and work on Fishers Island.
Linda Mrowka is excited to be joining the Community Center staff as the Membership Coordinator. She and her husband Chad moved to the island 19 years ago to raise their family. They have 2 boys, Craig a recent graduate of Fishers Island School and a freshman at The College of Brockport, and Camden a freshman at Fishers Island School. Linda is very family oriented and has enjoyed being a FI School Board Member since 2011. She enjoys all types of crafting, but her favorite hobbies are embroidery and baking. She is looking forward to being a part of the Community Center and meeting all of its members.
