The Community Center’s holiday celebrations are designed as family-friendly events appropriate for children of all ages. Many include some sort of developmentally-appropriate crafts and an element of giving back to the community.
Mother’s Day family friendly event to make cards and tissue paper flowers! It takes place from 3:00pm – 4:20pm on Thursday, May 11th at the Community Center. A suggested donation is 5 dollars per person to cover costs of supplies.
Recent Celebrations have included:
Island Clean Up for Earth Day: The community went around the island and cleaned up the trash along the road and beaches. Read more about it on fishersisland.net!
St. Patrick’s Day Craft Hour: We made pots of gold out of terracotta flowerpots and candy, and painted some leprechaun and shamrock masks!
Valentine Making Party: We made a ton of cards to pass out at the February Senior Lunch, covered in glitter, stickers, doilies, and everything else we found in the craft room!
Thanksgiving Soup Mixer: We put together jars of dried soup mix and decorated them, to hand out at the November Senior Lunch.
Pumpkin Decorating: We painted pumpkins to bring the community some Halloween spirit. Pumpkins donated by IPP!
